My trip to Indonesia has been cancelled. I found out this week.
But I’ve been given the opportunity to head to Thailand with my mom’s church. 11 days in Thailand for $1300-1500. I get to go to an orphanage and help run a camp. Plus I’ve never been to Thailand and it’s definitely been on my top 10 list for a long time. That very same day that I found out I made up my mind: I was going no matter what. I can be stubborn sometimes.
Two days later I went to talk with Casey, the director of my internship, about the trip. See, during these nine months that I am an intern I have to go on 2 mission trips: one to Washington D.C. and one to another place on the list (that was supposed to be Indonesia). I told her some of the specifics of the trip and wasn’t too surprised when I was told that it could be possible but it’s a stretch. I would have to write a letter to the elders at the church and appeal for this to count as my mission trip. That’s good answer I guess.
But I just had to ask: “So if even if I can’t get this to count as my trip, can I still go?”
I’m thankful that Casey and I have some of the same traits…one being that we both have a heart for nations. I don’t know think many other people would have said yes considering the fact that I’ll be missing 6 days of classes and we are only allowed 3.
So I’m going to Thailand. I leave March 29th. I guess some plans change for the better.
Ooooo!!! That’s going to be great! It’s good having those insider relationships to get hook-ups like that isn’t it!? Have fun and of course take tons of photos [but i don't think i have to tell you that]!!

Your Mom told me you were going to Thailand, I had no idea! I randomly signed up for your Mom’s Growth Group with Eastlake! TOO FUNNY! My friend Brenda is going on the same trip. She went last year and loved it! I’m excited for you! I’ll be in Uganda at the same time!
