and 1,714 photos later…

….I realize that I am in love with Washington DC!

I’ve been back for 4 days now and it’s still all soaking in.

Dang. I love that city. The atmosphere. The architecture. The people. The fact that so much change and influence flows from that place. Wow.

It’s always been my dream that in my future I would travel around the world but come home to my own studio apartment in Seattle. Before I couldn’t see myself living anywhere in the States except Seattle. Now I’m thinking that Washington D.C. wouldn’t be so bad to come home to.

And I’m sure it’s no surprise, but I came home with a lot of pictures. Like 1714 to be exact. Yeah. After I had the chance to sit down and process them I only ended up keeping a little over 500. Some will be up later this week.

I guess I should probably give you a bit of an overview about what went down this trip. Pretty much the whole point behind my week in DC was to serve the church out there. My church here planted a church there 3 years ago. Now we send interns every month to go help build the church (and I literally mean build…it’s an old building and they’re still doing renovations). Our team had the great opportunity to put doors in two walls in the building. With the 80-year-old plaster, there was dust everywhere even though we had quarantined off the areas. It took 15 people, 8 hours, 1 shot vac, and countless wipes to clean up everything. We had a blast! That’s what I call team bonding. Needless to say the 15 of us got pretty close over the course of a week.

Anyways, time for me to go get some work done. I’ll be back tomorrow with something new. And once I finish editing some pictures I’ll get a few of those up as well.

Hope life is splendid!
